Nos Pilot Namiki Murex Mr Fountain Pen Nov 1977 Fine

Pilot november 1977 murex mr fonutain pen. Here is the famous all steel pilot murex (pronounced myu-rex). This was introduced in 1977 as a follow up to the original murex, which was itself seen as an improvement on the origianl myu 701.
For more information on these pens, please see the article, the legendary pilot murex. (this version of the article exists solely for the purpose of supplementing the information in this auction description, and contains no links or sales references. ).
This one new old stock, and comes with its original price sticker and what appears to be the original presentation/display box. According to the date stmap h1177, it was produced in november of 1977 at pilot's hiratsuka plant. This murex has a textured nib section, flat nib and a spring type clip that adjusts to any thickness. On the cap the letters mr for myu-rex (myu king) plus the pilot name are imprinted in black. On the other side, you can read japan also in black.

The enamel strip on the clip and a horizontal band on the barrel are also in black. These pens were only produced in japan, and have not been produced for around 25 years, and are in hgih demand now around the world. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to recognize the supply of new old stock will run out quite soon. The design of the pilot murex wsa inspired by quills made of goose feathers. The subtle contour from the fingers to the tip of the nib makes for more natural, more intuitive writing and drawing.

The nib is a ifne point. It is said the thomas jefferson kept a large flock of geese, just to keep him in quills. Length capped 12.8 centimeterslength posted 13.7 centimeters. This pen takes standard pilot / namiki ink cartridges or an ink converter for those who prefer bottled ink.
I will include the 2 cartridges show, but i am uncertain of their color. Looks like blue. I will consider offers, if anyone has to have this particular pen. Good luck! Pencils 11, ym blog.
