Pilot Custom 98 Fountain Pen 14K Medium Nib SealedPilot custom 98 fountain pen, 14k medium nib, sealed. Here is one of pilot's most enduring models, the custom fountain pen. The pilot custom line has been around since 1964, and si distinguished by its wide variety of nib options. That's hwy they called it the custom with a wide variety of nib options, you could buy a pen off the rack with your nib preference as if it were customized for you. This partciular model is the custom 98. All three major fountain pen companies in japan have their classic big european looking black and gold fountain pen models with huge traditional gold nibs. Platinum has their 3776 line, sailor has their profit line and pilot has the custom line. These might be considered their flagship pens. Thsi is a very traditional design, the classic fountain pen. When you wirte with this, people may say, now that's a fountain pen. This pen hsa never been inked or used, and still has its original price tag plus a sticker telling you the nib size. It is also still factoyr sealed in its original vinyl sleeve, and has been untouched by human hands (not even my human hands) since it left the factory.
This si an absolutely mint condition pen. But there is no need for you ot keep it that way. Be the first to rip open that sleeve and ink this pen. This particular model is slightly shorter (12cm capped) than most pilot custom fountain pens. It makes writing a pleasure since its size makes it nicely balanced when capped, and it is even more ornate than many of its brothers with its triple cap band and contrasting imprint. It's perfect for those who want a more compact fountain pen but with all the extravagant style of an oversized pen. Over 30 stroke kanjithe nib is 14k gold, a medium point, which is not as common as fine points on japanese pens where common kanji characters can have over 20 strokes, and uncommon ones can go over 30 strokes. A medium point will give you a nice healthy line every time. Japanese medium nibs are generally not as wide as western medium nibs. If you really want this pen, it cna be yours. Almost every week someone will e-mail me and lament aobut being outbid by just one or two dollars in the final seconds. My advice to you is to add those one or tow dollars - or whatever the pen is really worth to you - in the beginning! You will either wni the pen or save your money, but everyone will be a winner. This pen takes standard pilot / namiki ink cartridges or an ink converter for those who prefer bottled ink. I will include an ink cartridge wiht this pen.Optional ink converter i can include a pilot / namiki standard squeeze type converter (con-20) for an additional charge.
